Gus Villalba serves as GEMDALE USA Managing Director of Acquisitions responsible for sourcing commercial and residential ground-up development and opportunistic investments in Southern California.  His responsibilities include underwriting, asset management, and developing and maintaining capital partner relationships.  Mr. Villalba brings over 25 years of experience as a real estate executive, including leadership roles with real estate development, banking and pension fund advisory firms.

Prior to joining Gemdale USA, Mr. Villalba served as JPI Companies West Region Managing Partner, Chief Capital Markets Officer, and Senior Operational Partner responsible for development, capitalization and asset management of over $4B in multifamily development projects located throughout the United States and Canada.  Since 2010, on behalf of JPI, Mr. Villalba raised over $1.5B of domestic and foreign capital including over $160M of institutional and private equity raised in China.  Prior to JPI, Mr. Villalba managed a production team for Prentiss Properties Realty Advisors responsible for acquiring and managing a broad range of real estate investments on behalf of the firm’s pension fund clients. 

Mr. Villalba is a licensed California real estate broker, Certified Public Accountant and active member of ULI.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and currently resides in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
